Where has my mind been?

So it just dawned on me while driving home from whole foods this afternoon that I have not blogged in two days. Woops! Total accident. My mind has been elsewhere, and I am sorry. I am not going to blog three times today to make up for it. However, I will try to make this one post substantial so my readers do not feel let down by my lack of effort.

Here are some things I have learned (or re-learned) this week:

1. I hate bad customer service, and good customer service can totally change my daily attitude.

2. If you have a 2.5 year old boy pick out his big boy underwear and let him open the package on the way home, this will result:

He totally thinks his new underwear are hats. This should make the potty training experience even more fun (note sarcasm).

3. When you are ready to move into a new place, everything about your current living situation will drive you crazy to the point of itchy skin and irrational behavior. Also, there is very little on craigslist these days in the Portland area that will suit both our needs and budget. However, I am spending copious amounts of time looking. If you know of a place, email me. You might just save whatever sanity I have left.

4. Lamb is really expensive (the organic grass-fed kind), but very delicious. I am making Moroccan lamb Stew for dinner on Easter, as well as Sweet Potato Chili.

5. Kinsey sleeps incredibly well in his car seat. I have come to realize that unless I want to spend several hours a day trying to get his to take up to 4 mini- half hour naps, then in the car seat he goes. He sleeps for 2.5 to 3 hours straight in the afternoon that way. There is an enormous difference in his mood, and mine that way.

6. I miss my family horribly. I hate that my cousins are getting together with each other and their children, just as our parents did for every holiday and birthday. I feel as though me and my boys are missing out on so much. On the other hand, I love living in Portland, and I am not sure just yet how to reconcile the two.

7. I really like Tarver. He puts up with my nonsense, and still not only loves me, but likes me back. Sometimes it’s much harder to like someone than love them, and I’ve been pretty unlikable the last few days.

8. The B.O.B Revolution stroller, while incredibly expensive, is 100% worth buying. I can’t believe it took us so long to break down and get one, and I am so thankful that Tarver agreed with me on this, since he never uses the stroller.

9. Colds make everything harder, and a teething baby with a cold is the most pathetic thing you will ever see.

10. Even though I have had one of the hardest weeks since being a wife and mom, I would not change my life for anything. I love my boys, and my husband, and I am grateful that they are in my life.

Even though Xander got them on his head, he doesn’t look like a happy camper. Maybe the the frustration of trying to get them on his head is causing his expression. Too funny :)
