I took my first yoga class today, outside of doing specific prenatal yoga. The instructor’s name is Willow, and she is incredible. She can do things with breathing and her belly that I never thought possible! I think by the fact that I was sore right after the hour session is only a sign that I will be incredibly sore tonight or tomorrow. However, I believe it was well worth it. I had no idea how energizing it would feel. I was sore, and tired, but I seriously considered going for a run after the class.
I was a little worried that I would look like a rookie walking in there, but there were people at every level of experience, so I felt right at home. I found out that I am more flexible than the average person, and I look forward to working on this as I keep going to classes.
Yoga is part of my, “get back in shape before I head to NY this summer” routine, and I am combining it with my run 3 times a week for 20 minutes at a time. So, yoga twice a week and running 3 times a week. What do you think? From your workout experience, would you add anything?
